Residency SCENE44 I Amit Noy - Good Luck
Good Luck is a solo performance in the pit of crisis and transformation. The work begins from the question: if a movement is a terrain of intergenerational memory, can we trace the choreography of a consciousness in a dance? Good Luck strips folk dance to its formal bone in order to examine the somatic processes of discipline, perpetration and guilt. The piece playfully and sadistically rewrites melodies, dances and objects to interrogate the everyday, embodied rituals that construct the psychology of a people. By turns vaudevillian and baroque, the piece unfolds in a choreography that makes no distinction between language, voice and gesture.
